Biography

Yelena Kozlova is a seasoned attorney at Karasik Law Group focusing on personal injury and medical malpractice litigation in Brooklyn and throughout New York City. She began her career as a commercial litigation associate at a Manhattan law firm, where she spent several years handling complex civil disputes, contract litigation, and business torts. That experience gave her a strong foundation in legal research, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy — skills she now applies to fighting for injured clients and their families.

Education & Academic Distinction

Ms. Kozlova earned her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Iona College in 2006, graduating near the top of her class. She went on to attend Fordham University School of Law, one of the most respected law schools in the New York metropolitan area, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2009. During her time at Fordham, Ms. Kozlova distinguished herself through both scholarship and competition. She served as Associate Editor of the Intellectual Property, Media & Entertainment Law Journal, contributing to the publication and review of legal scholarship on emerging issues in intellectual property law. She was also selected as a member of the Fordham Moot Court Board, where she honed her oral advocacy skills. Her abilities were recognized when she reached the semifinals and won the “Best Brief” award in the I. Maurice Wormser Moot Court Competition, a prestigious intramural competition that tests students’ appellate advocacy skills.
